Entering and Saving Assemblies
User spreadsheet should have two sections: a header and detail.
- Details of the assembly are entered in the header section
- Details of the components and special materials (including labour), and any comments are entered in the detail section
Entering the Assembly Warehouse and Product
- If amending an existing BOM Assembly, use the BOM Assemblies->Load Assembly option first to get current details from Sage.
- If creating a new assembly, clear the current details (if required) using the BOM Assemblies > Clear option.
- Then enter an existing Sage warehouse/product.
- A browse will be available if the warehouse and product cells are blank.
Browsing Sage Data
Browses are available on Sage data such as the stock, special materials and units.
Browses other than special materials are sensitive to which range user entering data into.
- To browse special materials, right-click then select Browse Special Materials
- To browse anything else, right-click then select Browse.
These options will only be available when the current Excel cell is in a range with browsable data.
Entering Comments
Enter 'd' in the component warehouse range. Enter the comment text in the component code and description fields.
Viewing Stock Data
- It is possible to view details of the assembly and component stock items.
- Select an entered product or warehouse, and right click.
- View Stock should be available providing both warehouse and product have been entered.
- Selecting this will display a screen with
Saving
Select BOM Assemblies->Save to save.
If the assembly exists already, user will be given a warning.

If user enter a revision number of date, and r Sage system is set for automatic numbering, then user will be warned that the revision number user have entered will be ignored.

If user choose to continue by selecting OK, then the new revision number and date will replace the current ones on the spreadsheet.
