Connection

1. General Network

The PC must have a network connection to the Sage server, and access via any firewalls to the appropriate ports.

2. SQL Server

The Excelerator program uses an OLE DB connection. This component will be installed by Excelerator if not already installed.

The user used for the connection must have the appropriate permissions on the Sage database(s). Details of which tables are used can be provided if required.

3. Oracle

Message: Provider not present

The OLE DB component has not been installed on the PC.

Connection Test is OK, but on attempting to use the product, an error message e.g cannot access NLCCSTR is displayed.

The 'database name' may not be valid. The connection test only tests the connection to the service, but not whether the schema is correct.

Connection

Connection details are stored by user, and must be set up for each user.
